Sacraments

Baptism
Our Sacred Heart Parish is offering the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) program for families with school-aged children who are seeking to be baptised in the Catholic Faith. This program provides a wonderful opportunity for children to grow in their faith and prepare to be welcomed fully into the Church. We already have a number of families expressing interest, and if you or your child is interested, it will assist Fr Josh to plan for the program. If your family would like to be involved, please contact the parish office for further details. You can email them directly moruya@cg.org.au

First Eucharist
This past weekend, we were blessed to witness some students in Year 4 receive their First Eucharist, a deeply significant milestone in their faith journey. With hearts full of joy and anticipation, these young individuals took part in the sacred celebration of the Eucharist for the first time, surrounded by family, friends, and our school and parish community. It was a beautiful reminder of the importance of faith, tradition, and the love that binds us all together as a parish family. Let us continue to support and pray for these children as they grow in their relationship with Christ and the Church. Congratulations to Elsie, Ashley, Charlotte, Reign, Hattie, Bernadette, Emilia, Calvin, Evander, Bentley, Theodore,  Ryan, Benjamin, Alonso, Patrick, and Cooper.

Mini Vinnies
Operation Christmas Child
Our Mini Vinnies team is excited to be leading Operation Christmas Child this year. Each class will be filling a shoe box with small gifts and useful items to be sent to children in need around the world, in time for Christmas.

Over the coming weeks, students will have the chance to contribute items such as new and unused toys, school supplies, clothing, art and craft supplies, sports equipment, games and hygiene products to help brighten a child’s Christmas. Items are being collected up until Monday 20 October.

A video made by our Mini Vinnies team explains this further: https://youtu.be/6QkS2qnfJh8?si=vYzpNB8yAIxQSFIy

Crazy Hair Day
On Wednesday 24 September (Week 10) Mini Vinnies will be holding a Crazy Hair Day. Students can come dressed in mufti clothes with crazy hair for a gold coin donation. The money raised will go towards our Operation Christmas Child project. Thank you for supporting our students as they put their faith into action through this wonderful initiative.

Heart of Moruya
All are welcome to come and join in a musical celebration at our St Mary’s Performing Arts Centre on Saturday 27 September at 6pm during the River of Arts Festival as part of the Parish fundraiser for repairs on our Sacred Heart Church.

Mission Week
On Friday 31 October, we will celebrate Mission Week with a Whole School Mass at 9:15am. After Mass, we will return to school for our annual Mission Week Market Stalls. Each class will run a stall offering a variety of items such as baked goods, ice creams, and lolly bags while Year 6 will host a range of fun activity stalls. We warmly invite families, parishioners, and friends to join us for the Mass and then enjoy the treats and activities back at school.
